CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability
Certificate IV in Disability provides the nationally recognised qualification for people wishing to work in disability support.
This course will support you to take on a challenging and rewarding career in the community services sector. Right now, there is a shortage of workers in this field so there are strong employment opportunities.
Our courses are designed to provide you with the confidence, knowledge, practical skills and qualifications to work in the following job roles:
– Home carers (either council based or with private agencies)
– Disability support workers (working in group homes and day programs)
– Working with agencies providing in home support for people with disabilities and older people living independently.
This qualification is delivered in the classroom over a period of approximately 28 weeks, 2 days per week, 9.30am – 3.30pm or part time evening courses are delivered over a period of approximately 52 weeks, 2 nights per week 6.15pm to 9.15pm.
There is also a 120-hour work placement component to the course, which is arranged for you by EmployEase.
We specialise in training people who have been out of the workforce or education for a period of time. Our goal is to make your training relevant, inclusive and most importantly, enjoyable and fun.
Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) – Students undertaking this course are required to provide a current Police check with no disclosures and a WWCC. These checks are required to meet industry standards. Should there be any doubt about your ability to meet this criteria, please raise your concerns with a Course Advisor prior to enrolment. The Course Advisor will support you to ensure your Police Check / WWCC status is verified prior to commencing your training.
Materials and Equipment:
Students undertaking this course are required to submit assignments electronically, therefore applicants must have:
– Access to a computer with internet access and MS word
– Access to a document scanner or digital uploading resource
– Basic computer skills
– Basic MS Word skills

Traditionally this course has a high employment outcome as there is a shortage of workers in the industry. Certificate IV in Disability provides what is fast becoming a minimum entry-level qualification for people wishing to work in the disability support sector of the community services industry.
