CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure & Health provides the skills and knowledge required to design, implement and evaluate health and leisure activities which meet the physical, psychological and social needs of clients in a range of settings.

Leisure and health encompasses the activities that we engage in for reasons as varied as relaxation, exercise socialization and simply fun.

Recreation plays a large role in the Aged Care and Disability sectors of our community contributing to positive health and well-being outcomes for people accessing services. You may work with all ages ranging from the young and fit, the elderly, active and those living with disabilities or physical restrictions, inside or outside.

Workers in this occupational group work in residential facilities, community agencies and day centres. Work may be under professional supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines or as sole practitioners.

Our course is designed to provide you with the confidence, knowledge, practical skills and qualification to work in the following jobs:

– Activities officer
– Community leisure officer
– Disability officer – day support
– Diversional therapy assistant
– Recreation activities officer
– Leisure officer
– Recreation officer

No pre-requisites

Delivery Method:

The course is delivered in the classroom over a period of approximately 7 months excluding school holidays. First 7 weeks are 2 days per week, then 1 day per week only. 9.30am – 3.30pm. There is also a 120 hour work placement component to the course.
