Pre-Training Review

The pre-training review process aims to help EmployEase understand your interests, background, existing knowledge, skills, and goals so we can make sure the program is right for you before you enrol.

The Pre-training review involves a series of informal interview questions and an open discussion at the end.
This may sound intimidating due to the interview-style process; however, it is an important step to cater to your individual needs. Be sure you are genuine and answer questions honestly. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers for the pre-training review. You may also have no answers to some of the interview questions or not a lot to add to the open discussions, which is also okay. In these cases, trainers will determine that you are open to learning and trying new things before establishing a distinct interest.

Once you have attended the informal discussion, an information session will be held where you can access information or ask questions about:

• Medicare card details
• USI details
• Evidence of impairment or disability.

You will undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy task and start to fill in the enrolment form.

Delivery Method

The Certificate II in Work Education course is delivered in the classroom two days a week, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, over 44 study weeks. The course continues over school holidays; however, a three-week break is timetabled over the Christmas and New Year periods.

Classes are led by a qualified trainer and also provide students with the opportunity for small and large group activities and timetabled excursions. Whichever classroom structure you choose, they are both great environments to be in when undertaking the Certificate II in Work Education course.

What Core Units are covered?

To be awarded the 22481VIC Certificate II in Work Education, all students are to successfully complete the following units:

VU22574 – Investigate job opportunities
VU22575 – Identify workplace expectations
VU22576 – Undertake a work placement
BSBWHS201 – Contribute to health and safety of self and others
VU22362 – Engage with simple text for employment purposes
VU21054 – Develop written job application skills
VU22577 – Develop independent travel skills
VU21055 – Develop job interview skills

Completing these units for the Certificate II in Work Education will ensure you have new expertise to overcome challenges in entering the workforce, or pursuing further vocational education and training.

How will I be assessed?

The assessment involves students completing tasks linked to all units. Students will be assessed through tasks that include written questions, projects, and a portfolio collection. The Certificate II in Work Education course requires students to gain a satisfactory outcome for each assessment task to achieve the individual unit. Students who successfully complete all units within the timetabled period will be awarded Certificate II in Work Education.

Support

EmployEase will provide support through our qualified trainers and assessor. Wellbeing support and student support service with a trainer’s aid (in some instances) or with your support worker will be provided.
