The course is designed to provide you with the confidence, knowledge and the practical skills in:

Course Delivery

The training is delivered using a blended delivery model.  This means that training is delivered both in the classroom setting and also via Zoom where students and trainer meet online using their laptop or personal computer.

1. Weekday Timetable – The course is delivered over approximately 24 weeks.  Training sessions are held twice a week 9.30am to 3.30pm over a 22-week period.
2. Saturday/Evening timetable (VIC only) – Please contact us for availability of Saturday/evening classes.

Assessment in HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

Assessment is conducted using a range of methods including written questioning, case studies, scenarios, research tasks and practical demonstration, within the classroom and in the workplace.

There is an 80-hour x 2-week (min) work placement component to the course (10 x 8-hour shifts) arranged by EmployEase. Placement is undertaken either in a Health facility or in some circumstances an Aged Care facility. Some variation to the hours of placement may occur especially when using a Health Service for placement. Placement shifts are likely to commence at 7am and finish at 3pm. Placement is compulsory and is scheduled at the conclusion of timetabled training.

We aim to arrange placement as close as practicable to the region in which you study or live, however especially when using major health facilities this may not always be possible, and students must be prepared to undertake travel.

Unfortunately, placement cannot be undertaken at locations which fall outside of our standard delivery areas. We specialise in training people who have been out of the workforce or education for a period of time. Our goal is to make your training relevant, inclusive and most importantly, enjoyable and fun.

Other assessment methods include written assessments completed on-line via our LMS (online campus).

In class assessments include various demonstrations and role plays.

Entry Requirements

As part of your application to study the HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, there are the following entry requirements that will need to be satisfied.

Police Check and Working with Children Check

An entry requirement of the health care assistance course is that you must provide a current Police Check with no disclosures and a Working with Children Check.

These checks are required to meet industry standards and are a pre-requisite to being eligible to undertake placement. You cannot successfully complete this course without a clear Police Check and a Working with Children Check. Should there be any doubt about your ability to meet these criteria, please raise your concerns with a Course Advisor prior to enrolment.

EmployEase is unable to take responsibility for any training undertaken, the inability to complete placement or for any loss of fees, due to a student being unable to provide a clear Police Check.

Pre-Training Review

The purpose of the pre-review into HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is to help us to understand your interests, background, your existing knowledge and skills, and your career goals, and is designed to make sure this course is right for you before you enrol. The PTR involves an informal interview and a language, literacy, and numeracy assessment.

To successfully complete this program, students must be able to demonstrate language, literacy, and numeracy skills at Level 3 ACSF. Mobile phones or any translation devices are not permitted to be used during a pre-training review.

Attendance

Students are required to attend minimum 80% of all classes. In some circumstances a student may be prevented from undertaking assessment should their attendance not meet minimum requirements. Please refer to our Student Handbook for more information (see Further Information below).

Materials and Equipment

Students undertaking the HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance are required to complete assessments online using the EmployEase Learning Management System (LMS). In some instances, you may need to upload a document or download a document from the LMS, therefore applicants must have:

• Available access to a computer with reliable internet and Microsoft Word
• Available access to a document scanner or digital uploading resource
• Basic computer skills (able to create and upload a file, attach a file to email)

Basic Microsoft Word skills (able to create a word document)

Additional Learning and Support Services

All students undertaking training with EmployEase have access to our two-part Return to Study and our timetabled Study Support sessions. Some additional support is also available after training by meeting with one of our qualified trainers. Vaccinations

Important Note About Work Placement – Flu Vaccination and Immunisations:

Health and Aged Care facilities are now requiring students to have proof of immunisation including the flu vaccination prior to placement. At the commencement of this course you will be given an immunisations form. Students will need to attend their doctor/health practitioner and have this form completed by the doctor. You may be required to have a blood test to check your immunity if you have not had recent immunisations.
