The HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing is a Nationally Recognised qualification that gives students the skills and knowledge to work as an Enrolled Nurse in the healthcare industry. The Diploma of Nursing course will see students train in important areas of anatomy and physiology, critical infection control, and aspects of medication administration to work confidently in a diverse range of healthcare settings such as aged care, hospital settings, rehabilitation centres, acute care, and mental health as an Enrolled Nurse (EN).

Training / Career Pathways

Upon successful completion of this program and following professional registration with AHPRA, graduates may seek employment as Enrolled Nurses (EN). As an EN, you can work across a wide range of allied health environments. In many cases, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or another medical professional. Alternatively, if you seek more autonomy in the workplace and greater responsibility, you might wish to pursue further study at an Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s level in the Healthcare sector. For example, the Bachelor of Nursing, which will see you qualified as a Registered Nurse.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you are qualified to work within a broad scope of healthcare settings. Following the completion of your Diploma of Nursing, you’ll have the freedom to choose between working in a larger team in a hospital setting, or in a quieter environment in private practice with more regularity in the clients you see. Some Enrolled Nurses also choose to specialise in a particular niche within the healthcare industry to explore new and exciting development opportunities.

As part of the course, future EN will cover a broad range of topics to help develop their skills in the healthcare industry. Through a combination of classroom work and practical engagement, you’ll learn how to:

HLT54115 Training Package Update

The Health Training Package (HTP) HLT54115 for the Diploma of Nursing qualification is being superseded by HTP HLT54121. ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing. The extended training, assessment and certification issuance period for this qualification ends on 31 December 2023.

This has an impact on all current providers of the Diploma of Nursing qualification. As a result, EmployEase will be accepting all 2023 applications under the HTP HLT54121 qualification.

How will this effect current nursing students?

EmployEase Diploma of Nursing students that are currently enrolled in (HTP) HLT54115 will be able to complete their studies as scheduled until end 30 November 2023.

New EmployEase applications for Diploma of Nursing will be enrolled in HTP HLT54121. Classes for this program will commence February 2023.
